The execution Works of the cycle-pedestrian footbridge over the Rambla de las Eras in Níjar (Almería), to give continuity to the itinerary of the AL-3111 road between San Isidro and Campohermoso, enter their final phase with the pre-assembly of the structure.
In the near future, the concreting of the collaborating sheet metal board and load tests will be carried out, with its opening scheduled throughout the month of April.
This structure Will allow continuity to the cycle-pedestrian lane between San Isidro and Campohermoso, districts of Níjar with more than 18,000 residents, in addition to the many inhabitants of Campo de Níjar who use this itinerary to work in the agricultural sector. This initiative will allow a drastic reduction of the number of accidents on the road, improving the sustainable mobility of the municipality.
This footbridge was one of the last projects of our great friend and colleague Juan Francisco Moyá Soriano, PhD in Civil Engineering and professor at the School of Civil Engineering of Valencia (UPV). The design, simple in formality, minimizes the perceptual impact of the structure on the landscape of the area, but maximizes the social impact for the local community. Excellence in engineering, as in the case, meets the technical and functional needs, and the problem in an optional way in the formal and functional aspects.
