Villa Adelaida is one of Santa Pola's most iconic buildings. In 2024, the City Council rehabilitated it — transforming it into the Hans‑Maribel‑Shami Centre, a new home for young talent in art, science and literature
Donated to the City Council by its owner, Maribel López Pérez‑Ojeda, the building now needed gardens to match. CIVIS designed them.
The brief
Redefine the gardens. Give them an identity worthy of the building, the donor's vision, and the aspirations of the future Hans‑Maribel‑Maribel-Shami Centre.
A symbolic setting that reflects the life journey of Maribel López Pérez-Ojeda. New multifunctional open‑air spaces that work for the Centre’s programme — and for the people it will serve.
