Background
The AL‑3106 connects Campohermoso to Níjar and the A-7 — a mixed-use road carrying trucks, cars and an increasing number of people on foot, bike and personal mobility vehicles, with no dedicated infrastructure for them. Níjar City Council and the Almería Provincial Council set out to fix that, improving traffic safety and cycle‑pedestrian mobility across Campo de Níjar.
Description of the Works
• Roundabout at Camino de los Garridos — eliminating the hazardous entry of heavy vehicles onto the main road, while a continuous cycle-pedestrian path links both population centres. Lighting upgraded, existing footways widened.
• Full utility relocation across the affected section: irrigation, drinking water, electricity and telecommunications.
