On 7 August, the Phase I road network of the La Hoya sector in Torrevieja was opened to traffic. This milestone represents a significant improvement in the city’s mobility, enabling direct connections from the CV‑905 road (Crevillente and AP‑7 motorway) to the central and northern areas of Torrevieja, thereby reducing current congestion around the N‑332 corridor.
Urban Development Scope and Future Growth
Across its four phases, this sector will deliver more than 7,500 homes, together with commercial areas, educational facilities, and direct road connections to the Municipal Auditorium and Quirón Hospital. The development is designed to become a major new urban hub within the municipality.
Design Criteria and Sustainable Mobility
The urbanisation works place special emphasis on universal accessibility and sustainable mobility, incorporating:
• A 100% continuous cycling network throughout the sector.
• SuDS‑based sustainable drainage systems.
• Electric vehicle charging infrastructure.
• Ducting for communications and Smart City services.
These elements position La Hoya as a benchmark for modern, resilient and sustainable urban development
