Villa Adelaida Gardens Redevelopment Project in Santa Pola (Alicante)
CONSTRUCTION
PROJECT
Villa Adelaida
During 2024, the Santa Pola City Council carried out the rehabilitation works of the Villa Adelaida building, one of the most iconic landmarks in Santa Pola, with the aim of converting it into a centre for the promotion of young talent in the fields of art, science and literature: the Hans‑Maribel‑Shami Centre.
As part of the rehabilitation and enhancement actions for this building, which was donated to the Santa Pola City Council by its owner, Maribel López Pérez‑Ojeda, CIVIS prepared the project for the redevelopment of the gardens.
Description of the Interventions
The main objective of the project is to redefine the design of the existing gardens, restoring a sense of representativeness in line with the vision of the Santa Pola City Council for this site, and providing a space consistent with the aspirations and operational needs of the future Hans‑Maribel‑Shami Centre for the promotion of young talent.
The intervention aims to give the outdoor space its own identity by creating a symbolic setting that reflects the life journey of the property’s owner, while also generating new multifunctional open‑air spaces linked to the building and its future use.
